OTTO DIALOGHI DA TRE ATTI DELLA COMMEDIA DI  MOLIERE

There will be performed only some scenes of the Comedy, according to the sequence for are going to see, that is different from that of the play.

1) Act I scene I (Sosias's monologue):

Sosias a servant, frightened by the travel he had at night by order of Amphytrion, comes back name to tell Alcmena of her husband's military deeds.

2) Act I, scene II (Sosias, Mercury):

Mercury, in Sosia 's disguise, keeps Sosia 's from entering home, beats him and says: "I am Sosias>>. Sosias says the contrary and asks some questions to the god, who, however also knows the most secret events of the servant's life. Sosias is persuaded: in front of him there is another Sosias. Sosias tries to enter home again, but being threatened to be beaten, flies away.

3) Act II, scene III (Sosias, Cleanthes):
Sosias tries to understand from Cleanthes what happened between her and the false Soasias during the night before. To reach his aim he says he got drank. Cleanthes reproaches him for having humiliated her with his coldness. Sosias is glad of it but Cleanthes is offen dend. Sosias must justify himself. Cleanthes threatens to betray him for revenge.

4) Prologue (Mercury, the Night):
Mercury waits for the Night and he tells her that Jove sents him to her to favour one of his amourous affairs in disguise the Night reproaches Mercury and criticizes Jove Mercury and the Night has an argument about this and eventually the Night.

5) ) Act I, scene III (Alcmena - Jove):

After a night of love, Jove takes leave of Alcmena under the pretext of hawing to return to his military duties Leaving her, Jove asks her to separate in him the lover from the husband, and says:"give your virtue to your husband, and save passion and tenderness for your lover",

6) Act II scene VI, (Alcmena - Jove):

After the quarrel between Amphytrion and Alcmena, Jove (always in the disguise of Amphytrion) progiting by the absence of Amphytrion, returns and enjoys Alcmena's love again. In order to make peace with her, he tries to put the argument and the charge of betrayal, done by Amphytrion earlier down to the "husband", while now he is playing the role of the "lover". Jove says he is ready for killing himself to lessen Alcmnea's disdain. Alcmena and the false Amphytrion make peace with each other.

7) ) Act II Scene I (Amphytrion, Sosias):

Morning; Amphytrion and Sosias arrive home Amphytrion, enraged with him, forced Sosias to tell, once again, why he could not speak to Alcmena. Sosias tells of the melting with the other Sosias but Amphytrion does not believe a word of it.

8) Act III, scene II (Amphytrion Mercury):

Mercury, guarding Jove and Alcmena's room on the balcony, to spend his time, decides to joke with Amphytrion who is standing in the hall of the house, and he calls him to open the door. Amphytrion, who mistakes him for Sosias, promises him u severe punishment. Mercury menaces to beat film if he knocks the door and orders him to be quiet and not to disturb.
