"If we look
at theatrical work in the second half of our century,
that of Peter Brook stands out remarkably for its
uniqueness and unmistakable character.
He was constantly pursued new ways opposed to what he considers ' Deadly Theatre ' . He has found how to utilize all the communicative aspects of modern theatre in the same way that he has been able to cross the boundaries of national language.
In this search for a new language Peter Brook has brought back to life forgotten cultural and theatrical heritage which hitherto had remained distant both in space and time.
In doing so he has accomplised the most difficult
task: everithing he did and does on the stage and
for the stage, always refers to the audience tho whom
he offers the chance of participation and ' being
there ' , unlike from any other " .
